GLOBARANGE: Conventional and VoIP rolled into one package
The Panasonic GLOBARANGE range of phones is a completely new concept in cordless DECT phones allowing users to enjoy the best of both worlds: the world of traditional telephony and the exciting new world of Internet phone calls, or Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), all with just one handset!
You keep your regular phone line, number and service, but at the same time you get an additional free ???internet??? line, through a company called ???joip???. The joip line enables you to make and receive unlimited free calls to and from anyone in the world that also has a Panasonic GLOBARANGE phone and a joip number.
Setting up and connecting the phone is easy and similar to traditional phone set up. No computer or software is involved. At the back of the GLOBARANGE phone you will find two cords. One should be connected to the regular telephone plug and the second one to an IP connection plug. Once this is done, your phone will automatically be configured. Within about two minutes, you will see a message on your screen ???Welcome to joip! You can now call your joip friends for free???. It???s that easy!
GLOBARANGE provides completely free calls between joip-enabled GLOBARANGE phones ??? both within the same country and to other countries ??? for three years. You can call anytime you want, as often as you would like, and talk as long as you want. This means that people who live far away from their family for work or school can stay in close touch, and business people can easily stay in contact with customers and associates.
Furthermore, Panasonic GLOBALRANGE phones have all the features you could want on a normal digital phone such as: 100 name and number phonebook; 45 minute answering machine (BB-GT1540 & BB-GT1520 only); Caller ID with up to 50 names and numbers stored; and speakerphone. With the Ringer ID feature, you are free to choose different ringtones for different contacts, and much more.
